Position Summary: The SAP EWM Architect serves as the strategic and technical leader for designing, implementing, and optimizing SAP Extended Warehouse Management solutions. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, supply chain leaders, and technical teams to architect scalable, high-performing warehouse processes that support operational excellence and digital transformation initiatives. The Architect ensures that EWM capabilities align with enterprise standards, integrate seamlessly with SAP S/4HANA and other systems, and deliver measurable value across the supply chain.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develops end-to-end SAP EWM Architecture, including inbound, outbound, internal warehouse processes, labor management ,slotting, and automation integration.
  • Provides SAP EWM functional knowledge and staffing estimates to support Business Development activities.
  • Collaborates with clients and business stakeholders to gather and analyze EWM requirements and translates business requirements into functional specifications for EWM implementation and customization.
  • Defines system design standards, configuration frameworks, and integration patterns with SAP S/4HANA, TM, PP, QM, and third-party systems.
  • Leads blueprinting, configuration, testing, and deployment of SAP EWM functionality.
  • Oversees functional and technical teams during process execution, ensuring alignment with architectural principles.
  • Conducts system assessments and recommends enhancements, optimizations, and best practices.
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, solution architects, developers, and functional consultants to ensure seamless integration of SAP EWM with other SAP modules (e.g., SAP ECC, S/4HANA, etc.).
  • Architects and supports integration with warehouse automation technologies (AS/RS, conveyors, robotics, RFID, IoT).
  • Collaborate with middleware and integration teams to ensure reliable, secure data flows.
  • Partners with client operations, logistics, and IT leadership to shape warehouse strategy and roadmap.
  • Provides expert guidance to clients on EWM capabilities, limitations, and process improvements.
  • Leads workshops, training, and knowledge transfer sessions for client teams.
  • Establishes documentation, design standards, and solution governance for EWM landscapes.
  • Ensures compliance with security, data integrity, and audit requirements.
  • Maintains current knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in EWM and applies this knowledge to drive innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and optimization with SAP EWM.
  • Travels to client sites frequently – 50-75% travel.
  • Provides mentorship and coaching with a focus on bringing out the best in team members by guiding them through goals and obstacles.
  • Adheres to all certified processes as part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and information security.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by direct supervisor.

Required/Desired Qualifications:

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management or other related field, OR equivalent years of experience.
  • 7+ years of hands-on SAP EWM experience, including configuration and solution design.
  • Proven experience architecting EWM solutions in complex, high-volume warehouse environments.
  • Operational experience in warehouse management, logistics, transportation, supply chain or manufacturing is a plus.
  • Experience working with the Department of Defense or another federal agency is a plus.
  • SAP EWM certification is preferred.
  • Must have an active government clearance or be able to obtain one prior to hire date.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain government clearance.

Specific skills, knowledge, and abilities:

  • Expertise in RF frameworks, warehouse automation integration, and EDI/IDoc interfaces.
  • Advanced understanding of SAP Extended Warehouse Management function with the ability to independently design, configure, enhance, test, implement, troubleshoot, and debug.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA EWM (embedded or decentralized).
  • Knowledge of SAP Activate or ASAP methodology for project implementation is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse processes, supply chain operations, and SAP best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate on cross-functional teams and convey complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in diverse cross-functional teams and simultaneously manage multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively.
  • Ability to lead project independently with diverse cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into SAP EWM solutions.
  • Ability to identify process improvements with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work in changing environments.
  • Must be able to travel as needed to client sites.

Compensation:

In accordance with pay transparency law, the expected salary range for this position is $130,000 – $170,000 annually. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This posted range reflects our good faith estimate of the compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this role at the time of posting.
