Position Summary: The Warehouse Performance & WMS Analytics Analyst plays a critical role in helping clients and internal delivery teams understand, improve, and optimize warehouse operations through data. This role focuses on extracting, analyzing, interpreting, and communicating operational data from WMS, ERP, and related systems to identify performance issues, root causes, risks, and improvement opportunities across distribution and manufacturing environments.

The Analyst uses a deep understanding of warehouse processes and data structures to translate raw operational data into clear insights, actionable recommendations, and professional, client-ready deliverables that support decision-making at operational, tactical, and executive levels.

The Analyst is expected to work with a high degree of autonomy, proactively determining which data to extract, how to analyze it, and how to structure insights based on the business question at hand. Rather than working from predefined reports or instructions, this role requires independent judgment, curiosity, and initiative to identify what matters, where it lives in SAP, and how to turn it into meaningful insight.

This role sits at the intersection of warehouse operations, digital platforms, and performance management, and is central to C5MI’s SCAR mission of improving visibility, predictability, and resilience across supply chains.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

SAP Data Extraction & Analysis

  • Extracts and consolidates operational data from SAP EWM, SAP WM, and SAP S/4HANA (including inventory, inbound, outbound, labor, and exception data).
  • Understands and navigates SAP warehouse data structures, including key documents and objects (e.g., warehouse tasks, warehouse orders, delivery documents, handling units, stock types, bins, queues).
  • Analyzes performance drivers such as throughput, service, inventory accuracy, backlog, dwell time, labor productivity, and exception rates.
  • Identifies patterns, anomalies, trends, and systemic root causes in SAP data.

Operational Insight & Root Cause

  • Translates SAP data into operational explanations (process, system, behavior, or design issues).
  • Quantifies business and operational impact (service, cost, capacity, inventory, risk).
  • Supports hypothesis-driven analysis and validation for improvement initiatives.

Reporting, Storytelling & Executive Communication

  • Builds dashboards, reports, and presentations using SAP data (Power BI, Excel, Tableau, or similar).
  • Packages analysis into professional, client-ready narratives and recommendations.
  • Supports executive readouts, governance forums, and transformation workshops with data-backed insight.

Analytical Ownership & Initiative

  • Proactively identifies what data is needed to answer business and operational questions — without waiting for predefined requirements
  • Determines appropriate extraction methods, data structures, and analytical approaches based on the problem context.
  • Formulates hypotheses, design analyses, and iterate as new insights emerge.
  • Continuously looks for new ways to use SAP EWM / WM data to improve visibility, predictability, and decision-making.

Collaboration & Delivery Support

  • Partners with process, solution, and operations teams to ensure analysis is relevant and actionable.
  • Supports site assessments, diagnostics, pilots, and transformation programs with data-driven input.
  • Helps define what “good” looks like from a data and performance perspective.
  • Travels to client sites to consult 50-75% of the time.

Governance & Quality

  • Ensures accuracy, traceability, and consistency of SAP-derived data and metrics.
  • Documents assumptions, definitions, and methodologies.
