Position Summary

We're looking to add an experienced Senior Proposal Writer to our team at C5MI! The Senior Proposal Writer will be responsible for facilitating the research, development, review, editing, and submission of high value and high priority proposals to win new business opportunities and defend existing business. In this role, you will lead proposal response teams and collaborate with business development and technical/delivery team members to conceptualize new opportunities and create compelling content that will form the backbone of winning proposals. You must have 10+ years of proposal response experience with a minimum of 5 years in the government space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In coordination with the Director of Proposal Development, develops, implements, enforces, and continually refines a standardized proposal response process that ensures timely, efficient, and high-quality responses to solicitations in both the government and commercial spaces.

  • Writes convincing proposals to both defend existing business and to win new business.

  • Develops proposals, bids, quotations, etc. (i.e., “RFx responses”) or other documents describing organizational offerings and services in response to proposal solicitations.

  • Leads multiple RFx response teams simultaneously with strong project management and proposal management skills.

  • Researches, writes, and organizes information in a professional and credible manner.

  • Collaborates and coordinates with internal contributors and subject matter experts (“SMEs”) to ensure content is complete, accurate, and maximizes business opportunities.

  • When partnering with SMEs to create content, performs research and reviews both previous responses and the content library to take a “first pass” at answering technical content to streamline the response process and to provide SMEs with “starter content” to build upon and improve, thereby adding value to the program response process and easing the burden on SME partners and response team members.

  • Prepares, organizes, and maintains proposal templates, including a repository of templates, standard language, boilerplate content, and other collateral and exhibits such as use cases.

  • Enhances the C5MI response library by working with SMEs across the company.

  • Collects data as required for the proposal development process for program KPI measurement, process improvement and refinement, and implements best practices.

  • Develops a proposal outline document, schedules and facilitates contributions of all necessary parties, ensures response compliance, drafts standard proposal sections, facilitates reviews, identifies gaps within draft responses, and performs quality control on the final document.

  • Provides input in the creation of proposal strategies.

  • Prepares custom response content in coordination with SMEs for complex and unique inquiries or proposal questions.

  • Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching the industry and related events, publications, and announcements.

  • Protects the company’s value by keeping information confidential.

Required/Desired Qualifications:

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in technology, communications, English, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum 10 years of proposal response experience and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the government space.

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint software.

Compensation:

In accordance with pay transparency law, the expected salary range for this position is $81,000 – $115,000 annually. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This posted range reflects our good faith estimate of the compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this role at the time of posting.
