The RTLS Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing real-time location systems in industrial environments. This individual will have deep manufacturing operations expertise. This role combines technical RTLS knowledge with practical manufacturing experience to deliver transformative solutions that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and visibility across production facilities.
Position Summary:
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
RTLS Solution and Infor ERP Integration
- Analyzes manufacturing workflows, production processes, and facility layouts to identify optimal RTLS implementation strategies and Infor ERP integration opportunities.
- Designs comprehensive RTLS architectures using KINEXON RTLS Pro and OS software to track assets, personnel, and materials with real-time data feeding into Infor Manufacturing ERP modules.
- Develops automated data flows between RTLS tracking events and Infor ERP to enable real-time production reporting, labor tracking, MHE tracking, and inventory updates.
- Creates KINEXON OS-based integration solutions that automatically update Infor Production Management with work order progress, completion status, and resource utilization.
- Configures zone-based tracking solutions for production lines, quality control stations, and inventory areas with direct integration for Infor Shop Floor Control and Inventory Management.
- Designs custom dashboards and analytics solutions leveraging both RTLS data and Infor ERP information to provide comprehensive manufacturing visibility and KPI reporting.
- Implements RTLS-enabled material tracking that automatically updates Infor Inventory Management with real-time stock movements, consumption, and location data.
- Configures and optimizes UWB anchor networks considering both manufacturing constraints and Infor ERP data requirements for seamless integration.
Manufacturing Process Optimization and Consulting
- Collaborates with manufacturing engineers, operations managers, supply chain engineers, and plant supervisors to understand production challenges and identify RTLS-enables improvement opportunities.
- Implements RTLS solutions for lean manufacturing initiatives including waste reduction, bottleneck identification, and continuous improvement programs.
- Develops asset tracking solutions for tools, equipment, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods to reduce search time and improve inventory accuracy.
- Creates automated workflows and alerts for production events, maintenance scheduling, and quality control processes.
Technical Implementation and Infor ERP Integration
- Configures KINEXON RTLS Pro software for manufacturing-specific applications, including production tracking, asset management, and safety compliance.
- Designs and implements comprehensive RTLS-to-Infor Manufacturing ERP integrations using KINEXON OS software as the primary integration platform.
- Develops real-time data synchronization between RTLS tracking events and Infor ERP modules, including Production Management, TAKT Time Adherence, Inventory Management, and Shop Floor Control.
- Creates custom KINEXON OS applications and workflows to automatically update Infor ERP with production status, material backflushing, labor tracking, and MHE equipment utilization data.
- Implements API integrations and data pipelines using KINEXON OS connectors, Infor ION middleware, and protocols such as MQTT, OPC-UA, HTTP REST, and Infor’s proprietary APIs.
- Deploys and maintains RTLS infrastructure including anchors, tags, gateways, and edge computing devices in industrial environments optimized for Infor ERP data requirements.
Customer Engagement and Solution Consulting
- Conducts manufacturing facility assessments to evaluate RTLS feasibility, ROI potential, and implementation requirements.
- Leads technical workshops and proof-of-concept deployments to demonstrate RTLS value propositions in manufacturing contexts.
- Provides expert consultation on RTLS best practices for different manufacturing sectors including automotive, aerospace, electronics, and discrete manufacturing.
- Supports sales processes by creating technical proposals, ROI calculations, and implementation roadmaps tailored to manufacturing operations.
- Delivers technical presentations and training sessions to manufacturing teams, highlighting operational benefits and use cases.
Project Management and Deployment Support
- Leads end-to-end RTLOS implementation projects from initial assessment through deployment and optimization.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including IT, operations, safety, logistics, and maintenance to ensure successful system integration.
- Manages project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication throughout the implementation lifecycle.
- Conducts system commissioning, user acceptance testing, and performance validation in manufacturing environments.
- Provides post-deployment support, optimization, and continuous improvement services.
Other
- Travels (30-40%) to client sites for on-site assessments, implementations, and customer support.

Required/Desired Qualifications:
Education, Training, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or other related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations, industrial engineering, or technical consulting roles with manufacturing environments.
- Professional certifications in manufacturing (Six Sigma, Lean, PMP) or industrial IoT technologies are a plus.
- Infor ERP certifications or advanced training in Infor Manufacturing modules and ION middleware are a plus.
- Proven experience with RTLS technologies, preferably KINEXON RTLS Pro and OS software platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Infor Manufacturing ERP implementation, configuration, or integration projects.
- Hands-on experience with Infor Manufacturing ERP systems including modules such as Production Management, Shop Floor Control, Inventory Management, and Manufacturing Execution.
- Experience developing custom connectors and data transformation workflows within KINEXON OS for Infor ERP integration.
- Demonstrated experience implementing technology solutions in manufacturing facilities including ERP system integration and process improvement initiatives.
- Experience with KPIs and metrics including OEE, TAKT time, cycle time, throughput, and quality measures.
- Experience with other RTLS vendors and comparative knowledge of different positioning technologies (UWB, BLE, WiFi, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and edge computing architectures, particularly Infor’s cloud offerings is a plus.
- Background in industrial automation, robotics, or advanced manufacturing technologies is a plus.
- Experience with Infor’s data lake and analytics planforms for manufacturing intelligence is a plus.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
Specific skills, knowledge, and abilities:
