Position Summary: The Director of SAP Support & Technical Servicesis responsible for building and leading a team of expert SAP professionals, including technical analysts, architects, and sustainment specialists, who provide consulting, implementation, and support services in areas such as development, basis, SAP security, integration, business analysts, and automated testing. This role involves staffing technical teams for client engagements and leading those teams as needed while also providing solutions expertise to support Business Development activities. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in leadership, strategy, professional services, project management, and customer relationship management to drive success in delivering high-quality SAP solutions to customers. This role will also work closely with our professional services organization to further mature our Sustainment service line and establish go-to-market strategies for this evolving service.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the C5MI strategy around sustainment growth, establishing a structure and go-to-market plan with the Executive Director of Growth, Strategy and Products that emphasizes unique offerings and generates new leads and opportunities.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive SAP sustainment services strategy aligned with the company’s overall business strategy and revenue objectives.
  • Work closely with professional services organization to develop a SAP sustainment services service line with an associated go-to-market strategy.
  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable the SAP Sustainment Services team, providing guidance, support, coaching, and disciplinary action as needed to ensure overall productivity and performance.
  • Build and nurture a high-performing SAP sustainment services team through hiring, training, coaching, and mentoring team members, and implementing training and development strategies in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Manage and optimize the allocation of resources, including consultants, developers, and technical experts, to ensure efficient project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Participate in the interviewing and hiring process for positions within the SAP Sustainment Services team.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the client base for SAP sustainment services, including creation of continuous improvement or farming opportunities for existing customers, conducting market research, engaging potential clients, and collaborating with sales and marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and vendors to drive revenue growth and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Provide thought leadership and expertise on best practices for implementing and utilizing the company’s products and services, ensuring adherence to quality standards and industry best practices.
  • Develop and implement processes and methodologies in quality assurance to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of SAP sustainment services delivery.
  • Develop and manage the SAP sustainment services budget, monitoring financial performance and profitability, making informed decisions to maximize revenue and control costs.
  • Closely monitor and evaluate the W-2 employee to contractor ratio, ensuring that adjustments are made as new W-2 employees are brought on to control costs.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, marketing, technology, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of SAP services within the overall business strategy.
  • Coordinate efforts with internal and external stakeholders to drive synergy and deliver comprehensive solutions to clients.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in the SAP industry related to sustainment and evaluate new tools, methodologies, and emerging technologies to drive automation and usage of AI, enhance service offerings and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to SAP sustainment services, implementing and maintaining appropriate governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the performance and effectiveness of SAP sustainment services, including revenue, margin, utilization, and customer satisfaction, and take action to address issues or opportunities.
  • Generate regular reports and presentations to communicate progress, achievements, and areas for improvement to senior management.
  • Foster a high-performance culture that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and professional development within the team.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience; Master’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma with 12+ years of experience.
  • Significant experience leading people with the ability to identify, develop, retain, and inspire high-caliber, top quartile talent.
  • Experience managing and developing a diverse team, including hiring, performance evaluations, and career development.
  • Experience working with SAP systems, including SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, and other SAP systems and modules.
  • Operational experience in warehouse management, logistics, transportation, supply chain, or manufacturing
  • Experience with government or regulated industries would be a plus.

  • Ability to drive innovation and leverage emerging SAP technologies to improve operational efficiency and enhance business processes.
  • Proactive approach towards process improvement, automation, and optimization of SAP technical services.
