Position Summary:

We're looking to add a Junior Operations Consultant to the SCAR Delivery Team at C5MI! In this role, you'll be responsible for enhancing warehouse efficiency and productivity by analyzing, mapping, and optimizing existing processes. The consultant will compare existing SOPs with recommended changes and update accordingly with a focus on leveraging SAP Warehouse Management (WM) and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) systems. You'll conduct detailed process assessments, identify inefficiencies, and provide expert guidance on best practices. In this position, you'll spend a significant amount of time working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new procedures and technologies. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with warehouse operators to gather and analyze warehouse management requirements.

  • Conducts detailed assessments of existing supply chain processes and workflows, with a focus on SAP WM and EWM environments.

  • Develops comprehensive process maps that outline each step of current operations.

  • Identifies bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for potential improvement and creates recommendations and actionable strategies for improvement.

  • Collaborates with supply chain staff and floor leaders to understand specific operational challenges and requirements.

  • Prepares and executes client workshops with warehouse operators and leaders.

  • Implements clear, concise, and comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all supply chain operations, particularly within SAP WM and EWM frameworks.

  • Ensures SOPs are aligned with best practices and industry standards.

  • Works closely with warehouse operators and leaders to ensure quality SOPs that are practical, achievable, error proof, and enhance overall efficiency.

  • Works with the training team to create training materials and guides to facilitate the implementation of new SOPs.

  • Stays up to date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices, particularly in SAP WM and EWM.

  • Proposes continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain operations and participate in implementation.

  • Tracks performance metrics and results to ensure success and conducts regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with SOPs and identify opportunities for further improvement.

  • Travels to client sites 80-90% annually to collaborate in person, evaluate operations, and review SOPs and practices in action.

  • Adheres to all certified processes as part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and information security, which includes actively participating in quality assurance activities and ensuring the protection of sensitive information in accordance with our security policies.

Required/Desired Qualifications:

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Required – bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

  • Required – experience in Six Sigma, Lean, or other process improvement methodologies.

  • Required – ability to obtain government security clearance for government engagements.

  • Required – previous warehouse operations experience.

  • Required – ability to travel 80% to 90% of time to client warehouse locations.

  • Desired – previous experience in a similar role.

  • Desired – experience as an SAP functional.

Specific skills, knowledge, and abilities:

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex warehouse processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop actionable solutions.

  • Process Mapping: Proficiency in mapping current & proposed processes.

  • SAP WM/EWM Expertise: Some understanding of SAP Warehouse Management and Extended Warehouse Management systems to leverage their full potential.

  • SOP Development: Experience in creating and implementing Standard Operating Procedures to standardize and improve operations.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new processes.

  • Continuous Improvement: Proactive approach to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement within warehouse operations.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to convey complex information clearly and effectively to warehouse operators and leaders.

  • Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving abilities to address and resolve operational challenges efficiently.
