Position Summary:
We are looking to add a highly skilled and motivated Proposal Writer to our team! The Proposal Writer is responsible for facilitating the research, development, review, and editing of proposals for new business opportunities. This individual will collaborate to conceptualize new opportunities and create compelling content that will form the backbone of winning proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Writes convincing proposals to reach existing and new clients.
- Researches, writes, and organizes information in a professional and credible manner.
- Prepares, organizes, and maintains proposal templates.
- Enhances the C5MI response library by working with subject matter experts across the company.
- Collects data, as required for the proposal development process.
- Develops a proposal outline document, schedules and facilitates contributions of all necessary parties, ensures RFP compliance, drafts standard proposal sections, facilitates reviews, identifies gaps within draft responses, and performs quality control on the final document.
- Provides input in the creation of proposal strategies.
- Works with business development team and technical/delivery team members to conceptualize new opportunities and create compelling content that will form the backbone of winning proposals.
- Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching the industry and related events, publications, and announcements.
- Protects the company’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education, Training, and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in technology, communications, English, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a related capacity in both the government and commercial space.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint software.
Specific skills, knowledge, and abilities:
- Proficient technical writing skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines.
- Demonstrates initiative and creativity when approaching challenges.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
