The Principal TM Architect is responsible for designing, configuring, testing and deploying SAP Transportation Management solutions, actively participating in staffing activities for company and client TM functional teams, and leading client TM functional teams. Examples of daily activities for this role include:

• • Interviews and assists with hiring decisions for TM architect and functional analyst roles.
  • Provides coaching with a focus on bringing out the best in team members by guiding them through goals and obstacles.
  • Provides input to staffing plans for client TM engagements.
  • Provides SAP TM functional knowledge and staffing estimates to support Business Development activities.
  • Manage 10 or more tasks simultaneously.
  • Collaborates with clients and business stakeholders to gather and analyze transportation management requirements.
  • Translates business requirements into functional specifications for SAP TM implementation and customization.
  • Configures SAP TM modules based on business requirements, including transportation planning, freight order management, carrier selection, and tendering.
  • Customizes SAP TM to meet specific client needs, such as defining transportation zones, carrier profiles, rates, and optimization rules.
  • Develops test scenarios and performs functional testing to ensure the proper functioning of SAP TM configurations and customizations.
  • Identifies and resolves issues, defects, and gaps during the testing phase to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Creates user manuals, configuration guides, and training materials for SAP TM processes and functionalities.
  • Conducts training sessions for end-users and client personnel on SAP TM usage and best practices.
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, solution architects, developers, and functional consultants to ensure seamless integration of SAP TM with other SAP modules (e.g., SAP ECC, S/4HANA, etc.).
  • Provides timely support and resolution to client issues related to SAP TM functionality, configuration, and data.
  • Collaborates with technical teams to investigate and resolve technical issues impacting SAP TM functionality, as well as to support system integration, data migration, and interface development.

Required Experiences and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management or other related field, OR equivalent years of experience.
• 8+ years of experience on full-cycle SAP implementations in multiple roles (e.g., functional or development analyst, functional or development lead, project or implementation manager, business process subject matter expert, etc.).
• Experience providing leadership and mentorship to diverse teams.
• Operational experience in warehouse management, logistics, transportation, supply chain or manufacturing is a plus.
• Experience working with the Department of Defense or another federal agency is a plus.
• SAP TM certification or relevant SAP certifications are a plus.
• Experience in Service Now is a plus.

Desired Experiences and Skills

• Advanced understanding of SAP Transportation Management function with the ability to independently design, configure, enhance, test, implement, troubleshoot, and debug.
• Familiarity with SAP TM integration and other SAP modules and components, such as SAP ECC or S/4HANA.
• Knowledge of SAP Activate or ASAP methodology for project implementation is a plus.
• Solid understanding of transportation management concepts, industry-specific requirements, and logistics processes.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate on cross-functional teams and convey complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in diverse cross-functional teams and simultaneously manage multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively.
• Ability to lead project independently with diverse cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into SAP TM solutions. ?
