The Position:

As the SAP Deployment Lead, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end development and deployment activities for global SAP system rollouts. Some key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Project Planning - review project plans, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure the smooth execution of SAP deployments.
  • Team Management - Lead and supervise a team of SAP deployment professionals, providing guidance, support, and feedback. Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure the team's overall productivity and performance.
  • Stakeholder communication - Engage with and hold regular meetings with stakeholders, such as business leaders, clients, and IT teams, to gather requirements, provide updates, and address concerns.
  • Deployment Strategy - Develop and refine deployment strategies and methodologies to optimize SAP implementation processes, including identifying risks, anticipating challenges, and proposing mitigation plans to ensure successful deployments.
  • Issue Resolution - troubleshoot and resolve issues, conflicts, and challenges that arise during SAP deployments.
  • Quality Assurance - Ensure the quality and integrity of SAP deployments by conducting testing, validation, and user acceptance activities. Define and implement quality control measures, perform system audits, and monitor performance metrics.
  • Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency enhancement and evaluate emerging SAP technologies, trends, and methodologies to propose innovative solutions for future deployments.
  • Documentation and Reporting - Maintain accurate documentation of project activities, configurations, and deployment processes, and generate reports, metrics, and status updates for project stakeholders and management.
  • Professional Development - Stay updated with the latest SAP advancements, industry standards, and best practices, and attend relevant training, conferences, and workshops to enhance your technical and leadership skills.

Desired Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (a plus, but not required).
  • Operational experience in warehouse management, logistics, transportation, supply chain or manufacturing.
  • Experience working with the Department of Defense or other Federal Agencies.
  • Extensive experience managing SAP implementation projects and leading deployment activities across various modules and components of SAP, such as SAP ERP, SAP S/4HANA, SAP EWM and TM.
  • Proven track record successfully managing large-scale IT projects, including project planning, resource management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies like Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid approaches, as well as change management principles and methodologies to facilitate smooth transitions during SAP deployments.
  • In-depth understanding of SAP software, architecture, and modules.
  • Proficiency in SAP configuration, customization, and integration techniques and knowledge of SAP best practices, industry-specific solutions, and emerging trends in the SAP ecosystem.
  • Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate cross-functional teams, manage conflicts, and drive project success.
  • Ability to effectively delegate tasks, provide clear direction, and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with stakeholders, clients, and team members.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting technical challenges, mitigating risks, and proposing effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Experience implementing quality control measures, conducting system audits, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Ability to align SAP deployments with business objectives, translate business needs into technical requirements, and provide value-added solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
